Old Women

Old women opinion about sex: I believe sex is a wonderful outlet for love and physical health. It’s worth trying to keep alive in advancing age. It makes one feel youthful and close to one’s mate.

In the study of Old women described their sexual interest, participation, and satisfaction in various sexual activities:

1)Two-thirds of the women said they were “very interested” in sexual intercourse.

2) Compared to their younger years, only 35 percent of the women said their present sexual interest had decreased.

3)Fifty percent or less said they participated “very often” in sexual intercourse.

4) At least 50 percent reported being very interested, active in, and satisfied with activities such as sitting next to someone and talking, making oneself more attractive, hearing or saying “I love (or like) you,” kissing, hugging, and caressing.

5)Fifty-six percent of the women said their sexual participation had decreased

6) Sexual activities for which one-third of the women or less expressed being, “very interested, active in, and satisfied with” included talking about sexuality, reading or watching erotic materials, daydreaming about sex, masturbation and oral sex.

7)Thirty-eight percent said overall sexual satisfaction had decreased. These facets of sexual behaviors do continue for this group of older women!

Although the results of this study can’t be generalized to the population of older U.S. women because the women had volunteered to participate rather than being randomly selected, the results do describe a view of positive and continuing sexuality of community-based older women.

How Is Impotence Treated?

Posted by admin | Sexual health | Tuesday 15 December 2009 3:15 am

causes of impotence

Impotence (or erectile dysfunction) is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse, and includes the inability to get an erection as a result of sexual stimulation or to lose your erection prior to ejaculation.

Most physicians suggest that treatments for impotence proceed along a path moving from least invasive to most invasive. This means cutting back on any harmful drugs is considered first. Psychotherapy and behavior modifications are considered next, followed by vacuum devices, oral drugs, locally injected drugs, and surgically implanted devices (and, in rare cases, surgery involving veins or arteries).

Psychotherapy

Experts often treat psychologically based impotence using techniques that decrease anxiety associated with intercourse. The patient’s partner can help apply the techniques, which include gradual development of intimacy and stimulation. Such techniques also can help relieve anxiety when physical impotence is being treated.
Impotence does not include other symptoms such as lack of libido, inability to ejaculate or the inability to achieve orgasm.

The primary physiological requirement for an erection to occur is sufficient blood flow to the penis. That’s why most recognized impotence treatments aim to achieve this result in a variety of different ways.

Despite the many claims of success made by the manufacturers of the new impotence drugs, they don’t provide a satisfactory solution for everyone.

Research on drugs for treating impotence is expanding rapidly. Patients should ask their doctors about the latest advances.

5 Ways to Keep Motivated

Posted by admin | Sexual health | Thursday 10 December 2009 11:27 pm

1. Workout with a buddy. Working out with a buddy is a great way to stay motivated to keep working out. If you know someone else is dependent on you to get in their workouts, you will feel responsible to make sure that the workout happens.

2. Listen to music. Since the dawn of man, music has been a way to keep our spirits up and to keep us going. For that reason, I suggest you make a good play list on your MP3 player specifically to motivate you for your workouts. Music has a way of turning you from a demotivated blob into a motivated workout machine.

3. Join a forum. Joining a forum with like-minded individuals who can give you encouragement is a great way to keep you motivated and loving every step of your fitness journey. If you haven’t done it yet, I highly recommend it!

4. Challenge yourself.
If you’re not feeling motivated to work out, chances are that you’re not challenging yourself enough. Step back, re-evaluate the situation, check your weight, and set new goals to meet for the next month. This will help you get up and out and give a new sense of purpose to your workouts.

5. Mix up your routine.
Sometimes doing the same thing over and over just gets too repetitive for even the best of athletes. Add some vigor to your workouts by mixing up your routine, like throwing in a kettlebell workout or adding swimming to one of your workout days.

Nicotine and Sex: Is impotence cause by nicotine?

unhappy sex
Many of us interested in whether nicotine alone would affect sex drive.
Impotence has been induced by an intravenous injection of nicotine into dogs.

Nicotine could damage the blood vessels in the long run, thereby reducing smoker’s ability to have sex. However, new research suggests that when isolated from other harmful substances contained in cigarettes nicotine actually promotes the growth of healthy blood vessels.

Nicotine is, however a vasoconstrictor, which means it narrows the blood vessels. Theoretically at least, this should reduce men’s ability to have sex, and would even reduce arousal in a women.

While most studies (including some which conclude nicotine has a negative effect on the sex drive) actually test the effect of cigarettes on impotence, impotence has been induced by an intravenous injection of nicotine into dogs.

Of course, dogs are not human and an injection is not smoking. However, a second study gave non-smokers nicotine gum to chew while watching erotic movies. The study found that nicotine can have a significant effect on sexual arousal when watching porn.

Nicotine compresses arteries to make them narrower. When your arteries conducting to your heart are totally blocked, then you bear the problem of heart attack.

The researcher says that a person who is smoking 20 cigarettes a day, would have increased 39% his risk of impotence. Cigarettes contain nicotine that affects people. Nicotine in the blood promotes the vein chamber to dilate. Heart attack and lung cancer are also the major causes of smoking hence smoking can cause impotence.

Female orgasm Fact

Female orgasm Fact

What is an orgasm? It’s defined as the peak of sexual arousal when all the muscles that were tightened during sexual arousal relax, causing a very pleasurable feeling that may involve the whole body. During orgasm, many women’s heart rates skyrocket, their breathing quickens, and their blood pressure rates increase; muscles throughout their bodies spasm, but mostly those in the vagina, uterus, anus, and pelvic floor.

Fact about women orgasm:

(1)Average length of time it takes a woman to have an orgasm: 20 minutes. Average length of time it takes a man: 2-5 minutes.
    (2) Half of girls have had an orgasm by the time they’re 16 years old.
(3)44% of men say their female partners always have orgasms when they have sex. 22% of women say they always have orgasms when they have sex.
    (4) About 1% of women are able to achieve orgasm solely through breast stimulation.
(5)63% of college women say they’ve had multiple orgasms.

What can you do?

Relax

It is possible to try too hard. Focus on enjoying the process, not on whether or not you will have an orgasm.

Communicate

Communicate with your partner your preferences when it comes to sex. Your partner cannot read your mind.

Encourage

If you or your partner are doing something pleasurable, encourage your mate to continue.

Enjoy

Learn to enjoy and feel comfortable with your sexuality. Your current inability to have an orgasm is not a reflection of your femininity, your psychological or emotional health. Putting yourself down just makes it that much more difficult.

Fantasize

Some women have trouble concentrating during sex. If that is the case, you may wish to fantasize, i.e., thinking about something sexual may excite you and may reduce negative emotions. If you feel that you are very close to achieving an orgasm, alternate tightening and relaxing your pelvic floor muscles. This may sometimes trigger a real orgasm.

Tips For Lasting Longer in Bed

Posted by admin | Sexual health | Thursday 22 October 2009 3:45 am

Ever wanted to achieve more sexual pleasure for you and your partner? Have you ever felt like your sexual patterns are preventing you and your lover from experiencing sex as blissfully as you know it can be? Does the prospect of having sex sometimes seem too daunting just because of a history of unsatisfying experiences?

Changing your sexual patterns may be a burning issue for you, or a passing curiosity, or perhaps you know someone that could benefit from this information.

In any case, I am sure you will find the following informative and interesting.-

Without any more waffling, my top 5 tips are as follows;

1)As you begin to feel the first telltale sensations in your penis such as heightened sensitivity and energy that if you carry on what you are doing then you are going to explode. But no longer do you need to panic! So many men are pushed over the edge right to the point of ejaculation because they mentally begin to panic and think that they are about to orgasm. However instead of thinking that you are about to blow instead calmly say in your head “so I’m close to ejaculation now it is time to use an arousal step down technique”. So you can now move on to the next step which will help you to last longer in bed.

2) Learn to stop! Don’t go at it like a bull in a china shop. If you feel yourself getting close to the point of no return STOP. Withdraw your penis and change what you were doing.

3) Breathing. Control your breathing through your nose with deep breaths. This will slow your whole excitement and put you back in control.

4) Wear a condom. A cheap and easy (and not at all suspicious) way to reduce sensitivity to your penis (particilarly the tip (glans)), thus helping you to last longer.

5) Don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself.
And lastly, don’t put to much pressure on yourself. The worst thing you can do during sex is to worry about what will happen if you can’t last long enough. Just relax, put the other steps I have showed you into action and enjoy the moment. If you do happen to ejaculate early it’s not the end of the world. There are lots of things you can do to last longer, and be sure that with a little dedication and practice, you will be lasting longer in bed in no time.

These are just a few of the many ways which you can help yourself last longer in bed. I hope you find them helpful.

Impotence and Treatment

Posted by admin | Sexual health | Wednesday 14 October 2009 4:45 am

Erectile dysfunction is the inability to attain or sustain an erection satisfactory for sexual intercourse. Most erectile dysfunction is related to vascular, neurologic, and hormonal disorders; drug use and sometimes psychologic disorders are also causes. Evaluation typically includes screening for underlying diseases and measuring testosterone levels. Treatment options include oral phosphodiesterase inhibitors or apomorphine, intraurethral or intracavernosal prostaglandins, mechanical pump devices, and surgical implants.

The term impotence has been replaced by the term erectile dysfunction (ED). In the US, at least 10 to 20 million men > 18 are affected. The prevalence of partial or complete ED is about 50% in men 40 to 70 and increases with aging. However, many men can be successfully treated.

Factors Contributing to Erectile Dysfunction

• Lack of frequent erection
• Excessive smoking and alcoholism
• Emotional disorder, problem in relationship
• Diabetes, high cholesterol, and early stages of heart diseases

Erectile Dysfunction Treatment
Over the past few years, there has been an increased understanding of the physiology of erection and the pathophysiology of ED. We are beginning to understand the events leading to tumescence and detumescence at the cellular and molecular level. Combined with the advent of sophisticated diagnostic modalities, more and more of these patients are diagnosed with treatable organic causes of ED. Currently, there are a multitude of treatment options available, ranging from oral to injectable medications and various surgical treatments. A thorough understanding of penile physiology as well as current diagnostic and treatment modalities is necessary for proper evaluation and treatment of patients with ED.

Different pharmaceutical companies have launched number of herbal products to cure erectile dysfunction. They are popularly known and promoted with the name Herbal Viagra that is an alternative to Viagra. They are widely used by millions of people with satisfactory results. They are made from herbs and other medicinal plants and are completely secure.

Cycling Good for Heart but Bad for Sexual Health

Posted by admin | Sexual health | Wednesday 7 October 2009 11:25 pm

Cycling is an Olympic Sport famous for its trills and passion. Cycling is an activity that many men and women do on daily basis to reach their offices or colleges. It would be really a heart breaking news to all the male cyclists if it is proved that cycling is making them impotent. To study the effect of Cycling a study was conducted in which 200 men cycling daily participated. Erectile dysfunction was noted among only those men who did vigorous cycling i.e. more than 3 to 4 hours daily. Thus, it is good news for all the cyclists that an hour of cycling daily will not harm their sexual health. But, it is always better to take the precautions, so do the cycling but only for 20 to 30 minutes for the best possible results.

Cycling is a very good sport for the health, this is what we have heard from our childhood, but according to the latest study Cycling can damage your sexuality permanently. Cycling can maintain your health and make you healthier, but by damaging your sexuality. Cycling is found to reduce the risk of cardiovascular ailments, but it may induce the risk factor of suffering with erectile dysfunction or perineal-genital paresthesia. Cycling is the age-old sport practiced throughout the world. Cycling truly one of its kind of sport that improves the health of the individual considerably, but according to the latest research it damages the sexual health of an individual considerably. According to the latest study, man who cycles continuously for more than 3 hours on habitual basis is found to adhere to the problems like erectile dysfunction in his life.

Long distance cycling causes temporary genital numbness as the common side effect sometimes it may even lead to the impotence in the men, if the long distance cycling is continued on regular basis. Erectile dysfunction in the men because of cycling is caused by the continuous movement of the legs that causes the friction in between the penis and legs that damages the penile muscles or even the arteries that supply blood to the penis. Another important reason that results into the impotence in the men is the formation of the bicycle seats. Continuous sitting on these seats causes compression of perineal arteries with a consequent significant decrease in penile perfusion. Reduced oxygen tension leads to penile fibrosis, which works counterproductively to the achievement of an erection that finally leads to the erectile dysfunction in men. However, in the genesis of the erectile dysfunction of the cyclist, apart from the above-mentioned factors, an “individual predisposition to developing erectile dysfunction” linked to the perineal-genital anatomy (i.e. type of insertion of the perineum into the root of the penis, number of layers of the tunica albuginea of the corpus cavernosum) cannot be excluded.

During the study it was noted that majority of the professional cyclist suffer with the erectile dysfunction and are unsatisfied with their sexual life. But, there are few chances for these cyclist to avoid the erectile dysfunction by changing the shapes of there seats from V shaped hard seats to normal smooth seats that supply the proper oxygen to the penis. Even the new speed gears can be introduced to the cycles that will reduce the continuous fiction in the legs. They can also wear the shorts that are quite loose and have a persistent supply of air to their inner parts. `It was possible to demonstrate that the most important factor in safeguarding penile perfusion is not the amount of padding, but rather a saddle width which prevents sufficiently the compression of the perineal arteries.

In another study the cyclists who were suffering with erectile dysfunction were asked to change their seats and add extra gears to the bicycle. Then these cyclists were asked about their sex life after 2 months of practice on bicycles with smooth seats, extra gears, and by wearing a quite lose and comfortable shorts that allowed the air to flow to the penis. The study concluded that there was a improvement in the erectile function of these men. Hence, avoid the excessive cycling to maintain your sexual health.

Safe Sex And Your Partner

Posted by admin | Sexual health | Thursday 10 September 2009 11:37 pm

Safe sex

Safe sex is more than a physical act. It involves the decision to have sex in a responsible way to avoid becoming infected with or transmitting a sexually transmitted infections (STI).

In the United States, an estimated 15.3 million new cases of STIs are reported each year. STIs do not discriminate by gender, age, ethnic group or economic background.

The most reliable way to avoid joining those numbers is not to have sex, also known as abstinence.

For most people, however, abstinence is not an option or lifelong goal. When this is the case, sexually active people must rely on “safe sex” practices.

1. Talk with your partner before the passion of intimacy distracts you from asking important health-saving questions.
2. You owe it to yourself and your partner/s to learn as much about STI symptoms as possible.
3. Don’t have sex if you have genital sores, warts, itching or sores in your mouth.
4. Avoid any exchange of bodily fluids such as semen, vaginal secretions or blood during sex (anal, oral or vaginal).
5. See your doctor to get checked for STIs if you have any concerns about your risk or the risk of your partner(s).

Although people in a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner have a very low risk of STIs, infections may sometimes be passed from partner to partner unknowingly. So make sure you are always prepared.
